A new beginning for a mostly retired globe-trotting engineer in one of DC's most desirable condo developments. Cozy two bedroom modern space with excellent finishes. We designed with a healthy respect for the architecture and maintained strict finish control to create a cohesive, airy space. Whites and greys with pops of intense yellows to energize were used.
In the living area a Ted Boerner sofa and stunning Florence Knoll polished Arabescato marble coffee table sit on a rug designed by renowned graphic artist Milton Glaser. These pieces face a custom configured USM Haller modular console in white with yellow interior. Over the USM unit we created an art wall with TV integrated into it to make it disappear. The client has an extensive art collection that needed a controlled environment to display well. KNOLL Saarinen Executive Armchairs upholstered in Graphite Ultrasuede are paired with a Luciano Bertoncini MIN Table. They do double duty as pull up chairs when extra seating is needed.
In the master bedroom Bertoncini's MIN Bed with frosted plexi headboard was complemented by Brix gloss white modular drawer units. Hand tufted Grace rug by Angela Adams ensures a soft transition from sleeping to waking. Philippe Starck KTribe Lamps and Jasper Morrison's Glo Ball provide fully dimmable lighting.
